At Darwin Science, we are a group of passionate scientists and industry veterans who came together with a shared purpose: to bring innovation closer to home. Born from hands-on molecular assay design and years of commercial experience, our mission is simple yet bold — to develop and deliver high-performance reagents and diagnostics that are made in Singapore, for the region and beyond.
We don’t just distribute—we build. At our partner’s certified lab, we formulate, test, and refine our own reagents to support researchers and clinicians alike. This dual role of developer and validator allows us to uniquely position ourselves: we validate the products we represent using our in-house reagents, and vice versa. It’s a system that works for us, and we believe it can work for you too.

We develop high-performance reagents and diagnostics in-house through hands-on molecular assay design, formulation, testing, and refinement at our partner’s certified lab right here in Singapore.

We don’t just distribute products—we also validate them using our own reagents, which uniquely positions us to support researchers and clinicians both regionally and beyond.

Head of Assay Development
Jimmy Toh
Jimmy Toh, Chief Scientist at BioAcumen Global, is best known for leading the development and HSA-approved registration of a Singapore-made SARS-CoV-2 test kit. His career includes A*STAR, where he built deep expertise in assay design. At Darwin Science, Jimmy drives the development of both research-use and clinical-grade assays, transforming cutting-edge science into reliable diagnostics.
Head of Reagent Development
Dr. Chee Wai Fhu
Dr. Chee Wai Fhu holds a PhD from NUS and completed postdoctoral research at LKC School of Medicine and the Cancer Science Institute Singapore. With a strong background in molecular biology and oncology, he now helms reagent development at Darwin Science. Known internally as our “reagent brewmaster,” Chee Wai ensures each formulation is optimized for performance, reproducibility, and compatibility.

Ray Ong
Ray Ong leads our commercial operations with over 15 years of experience in companies like QIAGEN, Bio-Rad, Thermo Fisher, and more recently, the Singapore-based MiRXES. Ray’s strategic insight and market know-how fuel our ability to scale effectively while staying closely connected to the needs of the research and clinical community.
Darwin Science is also supported by a diverse commercial team with experience in leading life science companies and distributors. With expertise across molecular diagnostics, lab consumables, and capital equipment, our team bridges technical understanding with market execution.
